Embracing Gratitude and Homecoming (167)

In the last couple of weeks, I've been waking up with anxious thoughts. I knew these days would come, and here they are. It hasn't been easy, but I'm glad that it's coming to an end.

I've taken care of most of my things. Still, I have a few tasks to complete and a last group of friends to visit today. I have been going out with my friends every day for farewell dinners. Yesterday, my family asked me why I don't have all my friends meet up in one day, LOL. I'm thankful for my good friends—some even asked to see me twice, but I had to decline due to my busy schedule. While I have little money, I have plenty of love for family and friends. A rich life is not measured by the amount of money in your bank accounts, but by the love in your heart.

Mom was excited when I told her yesterday that I'll be coming home and staying indefinitely. First, she opened her eyes wide, laughed out loud, and clapped her hands together. Then, she said she was glad that I wouldn't have to live as an exile anymore. Her memories went back to the days when I was a teenager leaving home for a brighter future. I reassured her that this time I will come to stay. Although she quickly forgot our conversation, I'm glad that I made her laugh and happy at that fleeting moment.

Yesterday, I bought Vitamin B12 complex for Mom to help improve her memory. When I'm home, I will make time to play with Mom and stimulate her brain. I will do anything in my power to prolong her quality of life. I'm happy and grateful that life has treated me kindly lately, giving me good friends and the opportunity to be a daughter. I truly cannot ask for more!

Tough times have come and gone. The important thing is to stay strong during the hard times. Avoid using drugs or alcohol because they only bring you down in the end. I have stayed strong in difficult times because of my optimism. I did not allow negativity into my life.

There is so much to live and love for each day if you can still open your eyes. It's beautiful when you appreciate the little things in life. I appreciate my family, friends, and everything I have. Thank you! ♥️
