Embracing Connections and Kindness: Reflections on the Lunar New Year (181)

In the last couple of days, I spent some time visiting my neighbors to send them well wishes, as is our traditional practice during the three-day celebrations of the Lunar New Year. Next year, I plan to extend my visits to more friends. With the intention of becoming a local here, I reach out to make friends and connections with people. It's not simply about business; it's a way of fostering human connections, which I truly value.

I am happy and thankful for the warm welcome. Some of my neighbors, with whom I have had the pleasure of connecting, go back to when I was a little girl in Vietnam, over four decades ago. Their genuine love and care deeply touch my heart, for which I am truly grateful.

With an open mind and a friendly personality, I can easily befriend anyone at any level, regardless of whether they are dirt-poor or affluent. I learn valuable lessons from both. While some come from generations of poverty, others come from generations of wealth. I treat them both well, being a little extra nice to the have-nots because I understand perfectly what it is like to be at the bottom of the social ladder. In my circle of friends, you don’t have to be rich or intelligent; you just have to be real and kind. Gossip less and be kinder to others—this is my motto. I dislike gossipers. It's easy to judge others, but you have no idea what goes on in their lives. Every child is born with a pure heart; society and upbringing taint their hearts as they grow. However, I can see the beauty in every broken soul. If I see that I can influence someone to become more positive, I would gladly open my arms to welcome them into my life.

Life is a journey of many ups and downs. Having good friends who will walk with you every step of the way is the greatest blessing anyone could wish for. If you have yet to find someone special in your life, I wish that true love will find its way to your heart this New Year of the Dragon. ♥️
