Why I Love My Job

Why I Love My Job

I love my job because I can ease someone pain indirectly. All it takes is a heart, knowledge, and patience to get the job done, but the reward is priceless. Take today for example when my customer's niece said to me, "Thank you. You're my uncle's savior! The doctors refuse to treat him because he does not have Medi-Cal. He's in excruciating pain right now and needs emergency medical service."

I get chills when I feel someone in pain. My heart aches literally. My ultimate fantasy is to be able to fly where the troubles are and rescue those in need. But I don't need to fantasize about it anymore because, in reality, I can do just that each day at work. It gives me a sense of purpose and a reason for my being here on earth.

I may not be making a lot of money or living comfortable lifestyles right now. But I won't change what I do. I will continue giving my next eight years of county service with a heart burning to help those in need. I believe when you help someone in need, someone else will help you when you need it.

I am thankful for the job I have in the last seventeen years, and I am grateful to my customers who continuously remind me of who I am and where I come from. ❤️
